Reserve Clinic 2000

Betty Pfeiffer's Reserve Chute Deployment Clinic
February 5-6, Taylorsville, NC

Betty explains
Betty explains how to climb out of a suspended hang gliding harness.
Reserve inflation
Everyone got a chance to practice controlling a reserve chute in wind and to assist controlling and deflating someone else's chute. (PG pilots do this all the time.)
Hanging anticipation
An HG pilot prepares to be "turbulated." Turbulators would shake you up and spin you around to simulate realistic conditions during parachute deployment in a hang glider. Hang glider wreckage often flaps and spins in the wind as the ground approaches.
Turbulated
A pilot in turbulation. Make sure you throw the chute in the right direction while you're spinning around.
Lines
Those chute lines need to be very organized when you repack. You won't have a chance to kite and work things out.
Knots
Betty demonstrates her knot tying skills on Benjamin's pack.
